Don’t do it, they become one. Also don’t plastidip BBS style 5s. Last year I dipped my wheels hot pink for breast cancer awareness month (October) and am just now getting most of the dip off. I’ve dipped 2 sets of wheels before and they peeled just fine so it’s not because I don’t know how to use the stuff. Also don’t spray your wheels with 20 year old paint thinner, then leave it to sit while you troubleshoot your pressure washer.

Dat finish :,(

The insides were getting so damn clean too. You can see where its a lighter pink, where the plastidip and paint thinner fused. Ah well, style 5s are a dime a dozen anyway, and I could never decide if I wanted the centers gold or silver. Looks like these will be my gold pair.

Googone pro was what I used. Worked amazing. Maybe you still have a chance to atleast the rest of the dip off.

Hmm not a bad idea.

I have a bottle of the stuff, and used it to remove the tape residue you see in this picture just a few days ago. I also have lots of mothers aluminum polish, and luckily I only really gummed up the one wheel. I might still be able to save the wheel, but what a pain.

WD40 turns the stuff to goo. It’s what I used to get the several-years-old plastidip off my truck’s hood.

Sorry, I accidentally meant to say goofoff. Friends told me gasoline works too, but I haven’t tried it. Good luck! Worst case scenario some real paint never hurts.

Great idea, I’ll have to give it a try tomorrow.

Never use paintthinner on anything painted you want to keep nice, and even then some plastics don’t like it either. Start weak, step up gently in strength.

Yep, lesson learned but then hindsight is 20/20. I think I’ll just leave the paint thinner in the cabinet next time.

Well at least you didn’t use the hydrofluoric acid...
